About Us
The Southern California Hospice Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation. Its mission is to improve access to quality end-of-life care for residents in our area. Donations to the foundation are tax deductible.
SCHF's programs and activities are:
- to provide and assist with special needs for some area
hospice patients that fall out of any insurance, Medicare
or MediCal coverage. Our Foundation advisory council views
these requests to assure they are handled discreetly and
swiftly for these needy patients and families.
- to disseminate brochures and other literature to the general public, explaining
hospice and palliative care options to the terminally ill.
- to conduct seminars and lectures for the general public on hospice and palliative care options available for the terminally ill.
- to develop hospice programs that serve under-represented and non-English speaking groups within the southern California community.
- to provide access to community physicians and nurses for advanced training and palliative care protocols.
- to provide transportation options for terminally ill local residents, who reside in their homes and otherwise could not access medical care or special needs.
